  • At the Muskoka Family Focus Huntsville Children’s Place Program, staff are to lead the children outside with their walking rope using the back entrance to the play yard.
  • If two staff are available, then one staff member must be at the front of the line leading the children out, and the other staff member at the back of the line to ensure accountability of all children. Do not let any children run ahead of the teacher at the front of the line.
  • Staff will lead the children through back entrance of the building, walk across the grass to the right side of building. They will then follow the grass alongside the daycare building, proceeding straight into the playground. Children and staff will follo w the same path on their way back through the back entrance.
  • Any child needing to use the washroom while outside before inside time, must come in through the back entrance with a staff member following the same path.
  • If a child is injured and needs immediate first aid, they may enter through the back door with a staff member following the same path. In case of emergency or severe weather (I.e. severe thunder and lightning storm) and we have to re-enter the building as quickly as possible, then staff and children may use the back door leading into the childcare room.
